Green Gully House
The Green Gully house is sited off the shoulder of a north / south running ridge with long views across the valley to the south and views towards remnant open forest to the north. The house is a small single bedroom house with an open plan living/ dining and cooking room separated via a breezeway to the wet areas including bathroom, laundry and storage.
The simple gable form recalls the rural sheds found on surrounding properties. The house is constructed in timber framing with high insulation levels to the walls and ceiling. The north facing living areas and bedroom have raw burnished concrete floors providing thermal mass for winter passive solar gain. Materials include burnished concrete floors, timber shiplap cladding and fiber cement sheet cladding.
